Mike Greuter

Mike first learned to scuba dive with the YMCA in the late 60's.... later he became a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer teaching up north.  He joined Gigglin Marlin Diving when he retired to the Houston area in 2006.

Mike  enjoys recreational and technical diving which includes  reefs, deep wrecks, and caves.  Mike has traveled and worked in many exotic locations. He has been there and done that, so to speak.

Sulawesi, Truk Lagoon, Riviera Maya, and Bonaire are Mike's favorite places to dive. When not diving, Mike enjoys golf, skiing, nature photography, playing guitar and driving his race car.  Mike says repeatedly:  “the world is 2/3’s water.”  Having seen most of what the land has to offer, Mike continues to find more adventures  below.

Mike loves to capture images of the underwater world to share with others.  His current camera gear consists of a Canon 7D DSLR with an Ikelite housing and twin DS161 strobes. Favorite lenses  are a 15mm wide angle and 50 mm Macro. Mike joined HUPS in 2008, wanting to learn more  about underwater photography.  He now serves on the Board of Directors and participates in the monthly photo contests.
