This month's topic:
Fish Portraits

Brief Description:
Side on, angled views, or face-to-the-camera shots are what we’re looking for.  You can have more than one fish in the shot but be reasonable, keep it to 2 or less, please.  And, of course, we’re talking fish here… not critters.

OK - fish.  Not turtles, whales or other air breathers.  No octopi, cuttlefish, squid or other invertebrates.  And no critters.  If if has gills - it's legal.  Is that the general interpretation of this month's topic?

Just to be contrarian, nudibranchs have gills!  Grin

But I agree.  If it ain't pisces, it ain't fish.

Tom, a really nice shot of a "yawning" scorpionfish . . . I guess you can no longer get just the scorpionfish but it has to be yawning. You can no longer just get the mandarinfish but it has to be mating and spewing out eggs, you can no longer get the mantis shrimp, it has to have eggs, you can no longer get the grouper, it has to have the cleaning shrimp all over it, and the list goes on endlessly.

I love the detail, sharpness and lighting, but especially the lighting.
