Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network

The Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network (TMMSN) is seeking donations of mounted photographs from HUPS members.

TMMSN will have a reception and silent auction on August 7, 2010 at Moody Gardens Aquarium (see attachment).  Our donated photographs will sold in the silent auction.  Last year was the first year for this function and I presume that it was successful because they are repeating the function this year.

This is a good opportunity to put to good use some of those mounted prints that we have stored from previous SeaSpace and TDC expos.  Last year, two of our members donated mounted prints.  Their gifts were tax deductible; we put a value of $60 on each of the prints and at the end of the calendar year the two members received a receipt of their donations to use for their income tax filings.  

The logistics of delivering the prints was a hassle last year but this year, it should be a breeze.  

IF YOU WANT TO DONATE A MOUNTED PRINT OR TWO - BRING THEM TO THE HUPS GRAND OPENING NIGHT AT MOODY GARDENS on June 26th.  We will see that they are hand delivered to the TMMSN representative.
