One thought on workshops has been in my mine for some time.  It's about how to find and stalk photo opportunities.  I guess that this would need to be done by someone that is really skilled at these techniques.  It might not be enough for a full workshop but it might fit into the "Critter Behavior" workshop that I just voted for.

Okay Hupster... It's time once again to start filling the calendar for workshops for 2010. I passed out voting ballots at the September meeting and want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to express their interests. We'll continue the voting at the October meeting for those not present in September.

Also I've reset the voting here on the forum for you to pick your favorite workshops as well giving plenty of opportunities so please take a little time to review this new list and let me know what you want as a collective group for next year's workshops.

I would like to propose a panel of judges or committee of judges who could get "certified" through a workshop of judge training. People who attend this workshop could qualify to be on a panel of judges for the contest. For example, if ten or so people attend the workshop, these ten could be called upon to judge the photo contest. So at a HUPS meeting, we need three judges which could be drawn from our judgeship committee who are at the meeting. The photo coordinator would keep a copy of the trained judges. If we do not have enough judges from the committee attending the meeting then we would need to recruit someone who has not entered photos in the contest but who has entered in previous contests or is a senior member of HUPS.

If anything, it teaches you to be more critical of your own photos. I know I would attend a judgeship training workshop. Anyway, it is just a thought since one of the workshops proposed is a judge training workshop.

Cool concept for sure... Seems like this could lead to by law adoptions down the road.
