On Saturday Jan., 2011 HUPS will have a round table share and learn at the Bayland Community Center to discuss the differences of Photoshop & Elements. Both softwares are very dynamic and rich in contentand a number of members have requested this as a workshop.
What is a Round Table?
Unlike normal workshops, a round table discussion is different in that there will NOT be an instructor but everyone is encouraged to come willing to participate, have the software loaded and ready and willing to chime in as a collective group. (Share & Learn concept) To get started, everyone should show up with two or three tips that help you while using the program. We will go around the table and discuss the ins and outs of each feature to share. Come with questions... Come with solutions... Come with an open mind and plan to learn something from the group.
Photoshop and Elements are a standard names in graphic design for web use, print layout, and more. Recognized world-wide as the industry-standard, these Photoshop products offers one of the most robust graphics editing experiences available.
Do you have a raw file and don't know what to do with it? Learn tips and tricks, cool effects, and how to use the Photoshop tools more effectively. Come to the Photoshop for beginners' workshop to find out how to post-process a raw file into a finished jpg in just a few easy steps. We will discuss the basics of the Adobe raw converter, white balancing, levels, sharpening, brightness, contrast, highlights and shadows. We will also explore some of the basic tools, such as: cloning, healing and cropping. So, if you have Photoshop CS4, bring your laptop with the program already installed and we will get you pointed in the right direction. A 30-day free trail download of Photoshop CS4 is available from Adobe.com.
