James Watt has extensive diving experience spanning more than 30 years. He has had many professions, first as a commercial abalone diver, followed by medical technician and then live-aboard dive boat captain. In 1985 he finally turned his efforts to his first love, wildlife photography. Since that time he has worked at his craft and is now considered one of the best in the world. His specialty is filming open ocean subjects focusing on sharks and marine mammals. Jim's work has been published in over 400 magazines and books worldwide. When not traveling, he makes his home in Kona, Hawaii.
Jim's presentation for HUPS is entitled Brave New Worlds in Underwater Photography. His talk will explore cutting edge technologies, 360-degree imaging, split images and the use of remote cameras.
