Moody Gardens HUPS Collection Gallery

HUPS has provided a photographs for a semi-permanent display at the Moody Gardens Aquarium in Galveston, Texas. These photos are on display just past the entrance atrium, where tickets are purchased. These photos are divided into two groups: a theme collection and a selection of member's photos on a variety of underwater subjects. Both the theme chosen by Moody Gardens (currently "Sharks") and the other members photos will be changed from time to time.

Of course this gallery is also viewable on a regular browser. Note that the file name contains the Julian date of the contest, the category (ADVanced, INTermediate, or NOVice), the place (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) and the photographers name. Click the icon on the right to view a gallery of HUPS entries in the George W. Glennie Memorial Nature Photograph Exhibition. These images were selected from those submitted for display at Moody Gardens. This is the second year in which HUPS has received an invitation to participate in this Interclub Exhibition conducted by the Merrimack Valley Camera Club of North Andover, Massachusetts. Last year, our first year of participation, HUPS placed 5th out of 95 participating clubs from across the United States and several foreign countries. This year HUPS placed 3rd of 110 clubs. Member Jackie Reid took best of show with Jim Wiseman winning merit and judges choice awards.

Photographers represented are Tom Collier, Dennis Deavenport, Kandace Heimer, James Wiseman, Mary Lou Reid, Jackie Reid, Ned Shimizu, Mike Greuter, and Jesse Cancelmo.

HUPS Photo Book

HUPS has published a book, "Take Only Photos . . ." showcasing the work of 10 of our photographers. It may be ordered by contacting Jim Heimer for $56.95 each. The book is 11" x 8.5" and consists of 24 pages printed on linen paper. Each featured photographer is profiled on the pages displaying their pictures.
